SSV ensures veterans secure the VA benefits they are entitled to receive and connects veterans to other needed resources.

The Post has been a member of the Department of Alabama "All State Team' several times and was recognized by National VFW as an "All American Post" for the 2018-2019, 2020-2021, and 2022-2023 years. IAW section 205 of the Bylaws and Manual of Procedure the Post decided in July 2023 to move its charter location from the city of Huntsville to the city of Madison in order to better serve the Veterans of Madison County and support the community.
